Shipments of radioactive material
Radioactive material is used in many areas and in many arenas in society, such as in medical care, research and the nuclear power and other industries. This material is transported in different ways. The mode of transport for example depends on the quantity of the radioactive material and its properties.
The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority requires safe transportation and safe shipments of radioactive substances and material. Apart from permission in accordance with the Act on Nuclear Activities or Radiation Protection Act, full compliance with the Act on Transport of Dangerous Goods is also required.
